ARCHIVE AND CREATE YOUR STORIES WITH YOUR
COLLECTIONS
So many amazing memories get lost and can be missed, all because we do
not collect them correctly.

It’s vital to have several backups of both your printed and digital
collections once they are organized. Digitize your most important prints for
easy access and reprinting later.
Store your printed photos inside a photo-safe box that’s free from acid
and unstable plastics, which could accelerate deterioration.
Also, make sure they are protected from extreme or harsh light. We
recommend having at least three copies of your entire digital photo collection,
including one that is stored offsite.
Locations may include an external hard drive or flash drive inside of a
safety deposit box or at another family member’s home. It may also be a
private, cloud-based option like FamilyArc.
FamilyArc keeps your memories safe by storing all of your digital files
on multiple databases in separate geographical locations within the U.S. It’s a
very secure and private way to backup, store, and share your most important
family memories with whomever you choose!
Insider Tip: Your memories are priceless and irreplaceable. Consider
investing in the safety of your photo collection the same way you’d invest in
insurance to protect your household belongings and vehicles from loss. This is
something many families don’t do, because we mistakenly think our social
networks will suffice for long-term storage and preservation.
But social platforms could disappear tomorrow, so make sure you have a Plan B!
